Hi, I'm Alexis—founder of Sunny Side Up Learning Center, proud United States Marine Corps veteran, and mom to an incredible 10-year-old son.
After eight years of active-duty service, I knew I wanted my next chapter to be centered around people and community. Through my work in elementary schools throughout our area and my own experiences as a mother, I've seen firsthand how much children thrive when they're encouraged, understood, and given the right tools to succeed.
I've also seen how hard families work. Between busy schedules, extracurricular activities, sports practices, dinner plans, and the nightly homework routine, the hours after school can quickly become overwhelming. And mom to mom—I get it. I've been there. I know what it's like to feel like there simply aren't enough hours in the day and to wonder if you're doing enough.
Sunny Side Up was created to help lighten that load. It's a place where children can finish their work, ask questions, build confidence, and discover that learning can actually be fun. Whether it's a new math concept, reading comprehension, or an iReady assignment, we're here to help make those moments a little easier.
My hope is simple: that every child leaves feeling proud of what they've accomplished and every parent goes to bed knowing one more thing has been taken care of.
